Currently Opera decided to join the party with a new browser announcement and now it was not in the future browsing experience rather it was for a gaming browser called Opera GX. There was a Biggest gaming Expo, E3 held in 2019 where many of the game publishers disclosing the latest projects they are working on, be it Keanu Reeve’s appearance in Cyberpunk 2077.
There was a curiosity about what is called the gaming browser, we know that all are confused and even we are eager to know about it honestly when we heard about it. We were having a question in mind whether users can play games inside a browser like a cloud gaming. But the answer was no. It’s nothing but a browser that is created to supplement our gaming experience by providing add- on features like the memory and CPU usage limit, Twitch integration and more.
We are also opera user for the past few years and eager to test out which one of the favorite browsers has come up with. Now we are here with the world’s first gaming browser opera GX:
There was a renovation that occurred in the user interface of the Opera browser. All the gaming browser should definitely come out with a gaming browser without having a dark theme already applied and dome RGB colors in the mix. As a result opera GX do the same exactly. The overall appearance of the monitor is stunning because the Neon colored highlight is running all across the frame of the browser along with dark themes paired with it. It comes with a red accent out of the box.
There is a chance for the users to tweak how the browser looks and feels by having an easy setup option on the rightmost corner next to the address bar. One can change the appearance of the gaming browser completely by choosing everything from the accent color, wallpaper, themes and a lot more. This is also available for the Opera as well. But here it is game-centric and fleshed out.
Opera GX is very compatible with Razer chroma, therefore Razer fans are very happy using it.
Opera has added a feature of sounds to the gaming browser for additional effect. So that can also be turned on/ off during gaming. You’ll experience them while you hover or click on your bookmarks and game listings in your Speed Dial. They’ll catch you off-guard at first, but you’re gonna play around with it for a while, showing it off to friends and it will soon become a part of your browsing experience.
Now a famous sound designer named Ruben Rincon and BAFTA games award nominee has partnered with Opera to create sound effects that can be turned on and off.
Due to the huge number of add on features, we are staying with opera for the past couple of years. Other features are one can get a complete ad blocker, free and unlimited VPN service, a cryptocurrency wallet, instant search and Android like sharing options. These are all available in the browser. These are seen on the right from the sidebar which is awesome for instant usage.

CPU and RAM Usage Limiter
If we are playing games then one needs the power to be offered by the PC and sometimes means quitting the memory-hungry browser or other apps running in the background. One can set CPU and RAM limits for the browser which will be a problem often for many users. Therefore the maximum amount of RAM and CPU can be set for your gaming browser.
We can very well view the Limits set on CPU and RAM usage from GX control into the sidebar also the amount used is also displayed in it. Even over a limit if it goes slightly can be set when required, but you can set hard limits so the task is terminated and your system isn’t bogged down.
I really like this feature and have already set the limits to 50% on each, but there’s also one piece of feedback here. I would like for Opera GX to offer a usage monitoring option within this section to help me better understand when the browser overshoots the limits. Is it while a certain number of tabs are open (whose number we can learn) or while some website it open or loaded? Wouldn’t that be great?
GX corner is the one which makes the world’s first gaming browser as Opera GX. The destination for staying up to date with all new games releases, deals, and news across the world, especially gaming news for the gamers.
There is a section called store section and it will be very useful for the gamers as it shows Windows, PS, Xbox and Mac games which we really liked. But the store section is slightly interrupting and that opera GX could find a different place for it in the sidebar. Therefore it is not necessary to have a pinned tab at all times.

Here there is one option Opera GX comes with a twitch integration out of the box in-spite of linking straight to official games. The sidebar houses messenger pop up windows that can be utilized over our existing window, this is known to those who have been using Opera. Opera GX will give a notification of when channels are followed go alive, here twitch sits in one of these overlapping sidebar windows.
Some times the notifications are not displayed because while logging into Twitch from the sidebar, accessing with necessary permissions, but due to some error or reason, it is not shown. Even if the sidebar is refreshed, nothing happened great.
We are thinking to stick on to Opera GX for a couple of weeks so as to see if CPU/RAM limiters are really helping and if the non- working features are improved or not. For sure there will be bugs creeping in during the testing period.
As per our research, we still need to spend more time on this browser for finding further about it, so that I can suggest it for the gamers. Also, the features are not so great since it is the first-ever gaming browser, but there are chances of getting upgraded and comes in handy for steamers down the way. And we are really eager to study about future developments in this.
